Gambrill State Park

The Delaplaine Arts Center

Located adjacent to Carroll Creek Park in historic Downtown Frederick, this award-winning art center offers more than 250 classes and workshops and 50 exhibits each year. Exhibits by local, regional, and national artists and groups in 7 galleries change monthly. 

Public programs are offered monthly and special events are held throughout the year. The Gift Gallery at the Delaplaine features artworks by local artists and artisans. Open daily. Free gallery admission. Mon-Sat, 9am-5pm & Sun, 11am-5pm

South Mountain Creamery

South Mountain Creamery is Maryland’s first on-the-farm dairy processing plant that home delivers farm fresh and all-natural products to over 9,000 customers in DC, MD, VA, PA, & WV! Since 2001, South Mountain Creamery is family owned and operated and is located in the Heart of the Civil War Heritage area.

Visit 365 days a year and participate in several free daily activities: watch the cows being milked from 1:30-4:30pm, bottle feed the calves at 4:00pm, play on the playset or rock pile, and get a scoop of super-premium ice cream from the farm store!

Baugher’s Orchard & Farm

Baugher’s is a 600 Acre orchard & farm in beautiful Carroll County, MD, growing strawberries, cherries, peaches, plums, nectarines, sweetcorn, tomatoes, cantaloupe, watermelons, apples, pumpkins, and other crops.

They have two markets; one at the orchard, where you can pick-your-own fruits, and a shop where you can check out their fresh fruit market. They also make homemade pies and pastries in their Orchard Bakery, operate an apple cider mill in the autumn throughout the winter, and operate their country-style restaurant year-round.

Catoctin Wildlife Preserve 

The Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo allows each guest to get as close to the animals as safety permits. To feel the silky soft fur of the chinchilla or see the muscles in a jaguar’s legs as he prowls within his naturalistic habitat are just a few of the experiences that will bring you closer to the animal world. 

They are home to over 300 species including amphibians, fish and invertebrates. Among them are bears to boas, leopards to lemurs, meerkats to monkeys, parrots to pythons, you’ll meet over 450 exotic animals on your zoo adventure.

Roads and Rails Museum

The museum has one of the world’s largest model railroads with miniature villages, mountains, trains, and automobiles. Included is a circus, fair, roller coaster, zoo, erupting volcano and much more. It is a 3D work of art with sound and movement. Open Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 12-5pm, and Monday 10am-5pm

Spinners Pinball

Pinball, vintage video games, beer… what more could you want? Spinners is $10 per person or $30 for family – with unlimited play! Hours of Operation: Monday – closed Tues, Wed, Thurs – 1-9PM Fri & Sat – 1PM to Midnight Sun – 1-8PM

Winterbrook Farms

Come enjoy a day on the farm with fun for all ages! Admission includes over 20 activities: Maryland’s largest corn maze with 4 separate Corn Mazes, BeeLine Ziplines, Mountain Slides, Farm Animals, Pedal Kart Track, Moo Choo Train, Lil’ Farmer Playland & much more!
