Celebration in Lights, Virginia’s first drive-through holiday light event, opened for its 28th season on Thanksgiving night. The event will be open each evening, 5:30 – 10:00 p.m., through January 1, 2021. Over 350 individual display pieces, 50+ arches, and over three miles of rope lighting enhance the natural beauty of the two-mile drive along Newport News Park’s main road.

Hours and admission are: open nightly 5:30 – 10:00 p.m., $12.00 per car Monday – Thursday, $15.00 per car Friday – Sunday and $75.00 per bus (every night); cash, credit cards Visa/MC, and checks made payable to the City of Newport News are accepted; advance/gift tickets may be purchased at the Newport News Visitor Center.

After you see hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights perfectly synchronized to music from your car radio, an 80’ tunnel and 50’ Christmas trees, you’re going to want to make Illuminate part of your holiday traditions for sure. With dancing snowmen, singing trees, Santas galore and much more, Illuminate is worth the trip! The event lasts from now until January 3, 2021. 

Dominion Festival of Lights at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Richmond, VA

Lewis Ginter lights up the nights with more than 500,000 lights, botanical decorations, model trains, and so much more! The Garden highlights displays from previous GardenFests, allowing guests to search for favorite forms, including giant flowers, the peacock, unicorn and dragon! Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights is designed so you and your loved ones and friends can relax, have fun and make special memories in a magical outdoor setting.

Be sure to look for the trains chugging around the Garden Keeper’s Cottage in the Children’s Garden! This event is open November 23, 2020 – January 10, 2021 (CLOSED Thanksgiving, Dec. 24-25), Nightly 4-10 p.m.

Experience a winter wonderland at this ALL-NEW limited-capacity holiday event from November 13 – January 3rd. Celebrate the merry season with Christmas lights, trees and holiday décor trimming eight European villages. This is one of our all time favorite light shows in Virginia!

Families can enjoy new village entertainment, fifteen coasters and rides, a Gingerbread Scavenger Hunt, festive holiday shopping, sweet culinary offerings and meeting Santa in his Workshop.
